Day 03: Cochin - Munnar (150 kms - 4 hrs) :
After an early morning breakfast, Proceed to Munnar enroute cover
Kalady the birth place of Swamy Sree Sankara and his Sringeri Math.
Enroute you can enjoy the stunning panoramic view of the Cardamom
hills & green carpets of tea plantations. On arrival, check in at
Hotel / Resort. Spend the rest of the day at leisure trekking around
the estate. Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 04 :Munnar:
A morning sight seeing trip of Munnar; visiting the Eravikulam National
Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the
Nilgiri Tahr, the Mattupetty Dam & Dairy Farm. Old Munnar Town, the
town market etc.... Rest of the day at leisure and enjoy another
overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 05: Munnar - Thekkady (120 kms - 4 hrs):
Proceed to Thekkady to a have a wonderful night in the famous hill
station. Afternoon move for an enchanting boating in the lake Periyar
to watch the wildlife. Options for plantation visit and trekking are
also available. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 06: Thekkady - Madurai (180 kms - 5 hrs):
Proceed to Madurai the temple city of South India. The ancient city of
Madurai , some 2600 years old is laid out in the banks of river Vaigai
as a lotus flower with the Meenakshi Temple in the centre. After
lunch go for a city tour visiting - Meenakshi temple, King Tirumala's
Palace, Great Tank and Gandhi Museum. Dinner and
overnight
at Hotel.
Day 07: Madurai -Rameshwaram (180 kms - 5 hrs):
After breakfast proceed to Rameshwaram the most sacred temple
town of India is an island hallowed by the epic Ramayana, where Lord
Rama is said to have visited before going into battle of Sri Lanka,
Ramanatha Swamy Temple stands close to the sea on the eastern side of
the island. One of the twelve Jyothirlingam shrines is also well known
for its magnificent corridors and the massive sculptured pillars
lining them. Return to Madurai for dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 08: Madurai - Kanyakumari (325 kms - 8 hrs):
After breakfast proceed for Kanyakumari - the land's end of
India where the water of the Arabian Sea , the Bay of Bengal and the
Indian Ocean meet. An important pilgrim centre of India, it is famous
for the Amman Temples - a symbol of unity and sanctity -dedicated to
the virgin Goddess, Kanyakumari. To its South - East lies the famous
Vivekananda Rock memorial, a blend of all the architectural styles of
India. Evening enjoy the beautiful sun set. Overnight at hotel in
Kanyakumari.
Day 09 :Kanyakumari:
After watching sunrise at Kanyakumari proceed to Trivnadrum / Kovalam.
Optional : enroute local sightseeing of Trivandrum which includes
Museum complex, Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Science &
Technology museum, Veli Tourist village, Aakulam Boat Club,
Shangmugham Beach. Later proceed to Kovalam Beach. Overnight at
Kovalam Beach Hotel.
Day 10: Departure Trivandrum (30 kms -1 hr):
Depart as per schedule to Trivandrum Railway Station / Airport for
